The Bent Spoon
About This Spot
Stepping into The Bent Spoon is like entering a small sanctuary of quiet delight in the heart of Princeton’s bustling Palmer Square. The air carries a gentle hum of conversation mixed with the occasional smile of a satisfied guest savoring something cool and unexpected. It’s a place where time slows enough for you to really notice the little things—the inviting display of vibrant gelato colors, the faint aroma of roasted coffee beans, or the soft clink of spoons against ceramic cups.
There’s a leisurely rhythm to the visit here, a soft sense of anticipation as you consider flavors that stretch beyond the usual. Patrons gather quietly yet comfortably, sharing familiar favorites alongside adventurous choices that might include a scoop of mango sorbet with its sunny sweetness or something with the delicate herbal undertones of lavender mascarpone. The mood is never rushed; instead, it gently encourages you to linger and savor each bite, whether it’s a classic vanilla bean or a rich dark chocolate that melts slowly in the mouth.
The Bent Spoon’s charm lies in this balance—an inviting local spot that appeals equally to the curious palate and those who seek the comforting taste of tradition. Vegan options sit seamlessly alongside indulgent creations, ensuring a welcome for nearly every preference. Similarly, its warmth transcends beyond frozen treats as many find a quiet pleasure in savoring a cup of hot chocolate, thick and soothing, or a subtly spiced Earl Grey tea that feels just right on cooler days.
Even when busy, the atmosphere remains friendly and effortless, as if the shop itself knows that great ice cream is best enjoyed without rush or fuss. There is a definite sense of community here: locals and visitors alike return not just for the inventive flavors, but for the small human moments—the shared smile over a towering sundae or the comforting warmth of a cupcake with chocolate icing after a long day.
Ultimately, The Bent Spoon invites you to discover your own personal favorite within its carefully crafted and thoughtfully curated selection, making each visit a subtle celebration of the joy found in simple, well-made pleasures.

I enjoyed bent spoon. Some of their ice cream flavors are unique whereas others are traditional and yet the consistency of the ice cream is throughout all of the flavors. Some of the flavors can be on the sweeter note but I enjoyed the Alphonso mango sorbet and strawberry ice cream scoops I got. It was about $8 for two scoops in a cup. Would definitely visit again! Went again 7/26/25 and this time I ended up getting the banana pudding flavor. If you have a sweet tooth this place if definitely for you. A unique flavor for sure

It’s always worth waiting in line at the Bent Spoon!! My go-to order for this season has been Alphonso Sorbet and Dark Chocolate. I also started adding a cone on the top so it doesn’t get soggy before I finish both my scoop!! Love this place!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Visited Princeton and this ended up being the first and last place we stopped at. Had their ice cream the day we arrived and it was so good. Then before leaving, we tried the hot chocolate and wow… easily the best I’ve ever had. Such a nice spot and totally worth it. Would 100% go back.

This place is always busy, and we had to wait in a long line to get in. They have so many flavors, and we tried pistachio, passionfruit, vanilla, and chocolate. All of them were really delicious and unique. I enjoyed them a lot. Definitely a must-try spot for ice cream lovers

Amazing Ice Cream! I had the Alphanso Mango and Dark Chocolate mix and it was very good. The texture of the iced cream was brilliant and I recommend this place for anyone who is interested. They offer vegan ice creams as well. They have freshly baked cookies. Usually crowded during the evening’s and night.

Very crowded, especially in the summer, but absolutely worth the wait. The staff is friendly and the ice cream is excellent. The double chocolate cookie was great, but the peaches and cream flavor was a 10/10.
